What is Anodising?
Anodising aluminium is a highly controlled form of oxidation. First the aluminium is first cleaned
, to remove any oils on the surface from extrusion, next it is etched in acid to remove imperfections and then anodised in sulphuric acid in an electrochemical process. This process is achieved by immersing the aluminium in an acid electrolyte bath and passing an electric current through the medium. The resulting anodic oxide structure is fully integrated through the aluminium substrate allowing for a porous final product that can be dyed and sealed or painted for a rich, deep finish which is highly durable, corrosion resistant and suitable for a plethora of applications.
